Blue Spool Designs is a small handmade business focused on creating functional fabric goods that are made to be used. Everything is sewn by hand, in small batches, with a lot of care, a good amount of patience, and if we’re being honest…. some cursing along the way.
Maker Story
Blue Spool Designs started the same way a lot of handmade businesses do: with a love of making things and a sewing machine that rarely gets a break. What began as a creative outlet slowly turned into a way to share handmade pieces with people who appreciate well-made, practical items.
Over time, the work has grown to include bags, quilts, and other fabric goods. Each piece is designed, cut, sewn, and finished by hand– sometimes smoothly, sometimes not, but always with care.
Philosophy
Handmade work isn’t always neat or perfect. Threads get tangled. Seams need to be redone. Patterns don’t always cooperate. But that’s part of the process.
Every piece is made with intention, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. The love shows up in the finished work. The cursing usually stays behind the scenes.
Where You’ll Find My Work
Blue Spool Designs items are sold primarily at craft fairs and markets throughout the year. Selling in person makes it possible to connect with customers, answer questions, and see the pieces out in the world where they belong.
